Bergteamet Raiseboring Europe changes name to Master Drilling Europe

Bergteamet Raiseboring Europe changes name to Master Drilling Europe

As of today, Bergteamet Raiseboring Europe AB changes name to Master Drilling Europe AB. It has been three years since the company became fully owned by Master Drilling Group (MDG) and the name change is a logical next step. As a fully owned subsidiary of MDG, Master Drilling Europe AB is now able to deliver more services to the market.

It was in 2015 that Master Drilling Group, the world’s largest raiseboring contractor acquired 40 % of Bergteamet Raiseboring Europe AB. In 2018, Master Drilling Group became 100 % owner as the remaining 60 % of the share were acquired. Raiseboring was until then a part of Bergteamet AB:s business since 2005.

Master Drilling Europe head office is located in Boliden and the company employs about 45 people. The main business is raiseboring of shafts in mining, infrastructure, and energy projects. But inside the Master Drilling Group there are more services to offer, both alternative ways to develop shafts but also services related to tunnel development which Master Drilling Europe is looking forward to offering their customers. Since the company is now increasing its offering with more services, it is a good time for the name to be changed.

“It feels great to do this name change now because Master Drilling is a strong brand globally. Now we will keep building this brand in the Nordics and the rest of Europe” says Joakim Furtenback, General Manger at Master Drilling Europe AB.

Master Drilling combines the best of two worlds as they still have the staff and experience from the Bergteamet days but at the same time can offer a vaster variety of services via Master Drilling Group.

“With this name change we become a fully integrated Master Drilling subsidiary. With the access to experience in the group and the world’s largest raiseboring fleet, no one else can compare. Thanks to our engineering department we are also able to offer more customized solutions than any of our competitors. You can reach out to us with a problem, and we make sure to solve it” says Joakim Furtenback.

Before the name change Master Drilling Europe have worked on a new business plan to be able to make sure they can offer the safest, most cost-effective projects in the world, on time.

“We will simply deliver the world safest results”, says Joakim Furtenback.
